Over the past year, Visionary Youth Labs Academy (VYLA) has become a leading center for practical computer education among the Rohingya community. Established in November 2024 under Visionary Youth Labs, the Academy has now completed three successful batches and is currently running three more batches, training students every day across multiple sessions. What began as a small idea to introduce computer literacy has grown into a structured, hands-on learning hub where young people gain the skills and confidence to build digital careers. This 3 months training is one of our main primary step to start the journey for students to gain practical learning where they can freely utilize themselves into a global land of opportunities by picking up their dreams.
A Practical Learning Environment in the Rohingya Camp
VYLA operates as a fully equipped computer lab, where every student has access to a personal device, workspace and a high-speed internet connection. The learning approach is entirely practical, students don’t just learn theory; they work through real projects, apply lessons directly and build skills through consistent practice.
Each batch consists of up to 10 students, allowing trainers to focus on individual growth. The sessions are designed to simulate real-world work environments, preparing students for both professional and freelance opportunities.
Digital Office Management Course
The Academy’s core program, the Digital Office Management Course, runs for more than three months and covers a complete range of essential digital skills. Students begin with computer fundamentals and progress to advanced applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet based and freelance career guidelines.
Beyond office software, the course includes lessons on computer internals, software installation, digital security and internet-based tools for collaboration and productivity. The final module introduces students to freelancing, digital professionalism and online career guidelines, helping them connect their learning to real employment opportunities.
Extending Beyond the Classroom
VYLA is not limited to class hours. The lab remains open for all current and past students to continue practicing, exploring projects and improving their skills on weekends and holidays. We encourage every student to attend this open-practice model to keep their learning continuous and engage with digital tools even after completing the course.
To make learning meaningful, students are givenpractice projects related to their lessons such as creating documents, reports, presentations, data sheets and collaborative online documents that reflect real office tasks.

Building a Path for the Future of Rohingya in Technology and Connect to the Global Opportunities
More than 40 students have already completed their training at VYLA, representing a new generation of digitally literate Rohingya youth. These students now possess the foundational knowledge needed to pursue work in offices, NGOs or online freelance platforms.
Meanwhile, Visionary Youth Labs is also developing specialized teams in emerging digital fields such as video editing, web and app development, digital marketing, and cybersecurity. These teams aim to serve both local and international clients, demonstrating that young people from even the most restricted environments can contribute to the global digital economy.
A Vision Beyond Education
The Academy’s long-term goal is not only to teach technology but also to shape a self-reliant, skilled and responsible community. By promoting education and employability, VYLA seeks to reduce crime, create opportunities and build a generation of independent, qualified individuals ready to serve both their community and the world beyond and fight against poverty.
In a place where access to technology and training has long been limited, Visionary Youth Labs Academy stands as a model of possibility, a space where learning, innovation and hope intersect. Through consistent dedication, hands-on training and vision-driven leadership, VYLA continues to prove that with opportunity and guidance, even the most marginalized youth can thrive in the opportunities hubs of the digital world.
